The Kuru Smile
Three is normally seen as a crowd, but The Kuru Smile get on like a house on fire. The progressive rock trio cite influences from Radiohead to Tool and these acknowledgements can be heard in tracks like Fucking To Triphop.
The sound is predominantly heavy and bashful, whilst the vocals are much lighter and even emerge into a harmonious tune that gradually roars into a scowling howl.
18 Blackhorses has a mellower sound that seems to come alive during the chorus. The cymbals explode in an array of crashes, the guitars turn into demonic monsters and the vocals fly out like its singer Daniel Lodge's last breath.
